LFC FoundationThe LFC Foundation's Coaching Collective supporting female coaches
A new programme developed by the LFC Foundation is set to transform the grassroots game for female coaches across the Liverpool City Region.
Designed to deepen tactical understanding and build confidence on the touchline, the programme will provide dedicated training and mentorship to a minimum of 48 female coaches, equipping them with the skills to lead off of the pitch.
The LFC Foundation recently hosted two cohorts of coaches at the Jeffrey Humble and at the LFC Academy which provided an insight in to how the Foundation operates their structure of the Player Development Programme, the Emerging Talent Centre and the Girls Academy.
The coaches will make their final visit to observe an LFC Foundation U14s fixture at Melwood which will include pre-game and in-game tasks to complete. Focusing on real-world matchday scenarios and tactical development, the programme aims to empower coaches with the tools they need to inspire, lead, and elevate their teams. It’s a recognition of the vital role female coaches play in developing the grassroots game.
Karl Carney, LFC Foundation’s Sport & Physical Activity Department Manager said:
“This is about creating a pathway for more female coaches to involve themselves in grassroots football. By providing our coaches with the skills to lead off the pitch we will create more leaders off the pitch.”
To date the LFC Foundation have engaged 25 female coaches from across Liverpool City Region with aspirations to engage a minimum of 48 coaches.
