LFC FoundationLFC Foundation ED&I Disability Inclusion Day at LFCW v Chelsea, St Helens Stadium
On Sunday 16th November LFC Foundation ED&I delivered a powerful message of belonging and community at St Helens Stadium as we hosted our dedicated Disability Inclusion Day for the home fixture against Chelsea.
The event brought together communities, fans, families, and participants to celebrate inclusion in football.
Before kick-off, supporters were treated to a moving performance of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ in British Sign Language (BSL), delivered by the Mersey Society for Deaf People. The rendition set the tone for a day focused on visibility, understanding, and pride across the disability community.
Throughout the stadium concourse, fans were able to engage with Mersey Society for Deaf People and Autism in Racing, who provided a range of resources, sensory tools, and information designed to raise deaf awareness, autism awareness, and promote inclusive experiences at football. Their presence offered practical support and greater knowledge in how to navigate matchdays.
Half-time saw the spotlight shine on the SEND community, as several of LFC Foundation’s SEND participants took to the pitch for a special penalty shoot-out with fan favourite Mighty Red unable to stop their shots! As the crowd cheered on the young players delivered a memorable display of fun, energy, and footballing spirit.
The day showcased the ongoing commitment of both LFC Women and LFC Foundation to breaking down barriers, improving access, and ensuring that every supporter feels welcome. Through partnerships, visibility, and meaningful moments on and off the pitch, Disability Inclusion Day highlighted what makes LFC special, a community where everyone can take part, be celebrated, and where football truly is everyone’s game.
