FoundationLFC Foundation and Trimble Foundation launch SketchUp for Schools pilot across Liverpool
LFC Foundation is delighted to announce the launch of a new STEM programme pilot in collaboration with club partner, Trimble.
SketchUp for Schools is a free 3D modelling application designed specifically for primary and secondary education and is used by over 4.5 million students and educators worldwide.
Through collaboration with Trimble Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the technology company Trimble that operates as a donor-advised fund, a five-week pilot programme will see the latest SketchUp for Schools application trialled across Liverpool as part of its beta testing phase ahead of a wider global launch.
During the pilot, around 300 pupils from across the city will take part in a structured five-week programme delivered by LFC Foundation staff, who have been upskilled to utilise the technology through support from Trimble.
The programme will enhance LFC Foundation’s STEM delivery within schools and enable young people to harness their creativity by using technology to bring their ideas to life through 3D modelling, while also developing valuable technological, design and mathematical skills.
Matt Parish, LFC Foundation CEO said:
“We’re delighted to launch this exciting STEM pilot with Trimble and give young people across Liverpool the opportunity to develop valuable digital and creative skills through SketchUp for Schools. We’d like to thank Trimble and the Trimble Foundation for their fantastic support in providing schools with free access to this innovative technology.”
