LFC FoundationKicking off Spring term with our schools team
After a long winter break, let's check in on what our schools team have been up to since their return!
Inclusive SEN Festival Delivers Fun, Confidence and Teamwork
Delivered by Peter Silcock, LFC Foundation's Inclusion Coordinator for our SEN SMF schools and supported by the Premier League Primary Stars team, we held another fun, interactive and engaging SEN festival at ASCC.
Pupils enjoyed a range of inclusive sports including Curling and Boccia, alongside games designed to build communication and teamwork skills. The day was made even more special with a visit from Mighty Red, with participants getting the chance to step up and take a penalty against him!
The festival welcomed 18 participants from Stanley School and All Saints School, creating a positive, supportive environment where everyone could take part, feel included and enjoy being active.
STEM Enrichment Engages Children and Families in the Wirral
LFC Foundation's Schools Manager, Wendy delivered a STEM enrichment session at one of our Steve Morgan Foundation hubs, The Hive, for local children and families which engaged over 60 young people.
The session showcased how STEM can be exciting and accessible for everyone, with hands-on activities encouraging curiosity, creativity and problem-solving. It was brilliant to see so many young people and families getting involved and enjoying learning together.
This was a great example of how STEM enrichment can inspire interest and confidence beyond the classroom.
Real Truth Legacy Workshop Supports Year 6 Learning
Annie Jones, LFC Foundation's Premier League Primary Stars Senior Coordinator delivered The Real Truth Legacy Workshop as part of the Premier League Primary Stars programme at St Pascal Babylon Primary School.
The session was delivered to Year 6 pupils who had already studied the Hillsborough disaster as part of their history lessons, helping to deepen understanding through discussion, reflection and age-appropriate learning.
The workshop supported pupils to explore the importance of truth, justice and legacy, reinforcing key messages through meaningful, curriculum-linked enrichment.
STEM Competition Brings Engineering and Coding to Life
Wendy also recently led a STEM competition at St Anthony of Padua School as part of our ongoing work with local schools.
Year 5 pupils took on the roles of engineers and coders, working together to solve challenges through creativity, problem-solving and teamwork. The hands-on competition encouraged pupils to think critically while applying key STEM skills in a fun and engaging way.
It was a brilliant example of how STEM enrichment can bring learning to life in the classroom.
Feed Your Mind Book Review Winners Announced
The first winners of this term’s Feed Your Mind book review challenge have been announced, celebrating pupils’ enthusiasm for reading and sharing their thoughts on books.
Led by Wendy, pupils from St Hugh’s, Kings Northway and St Anthony of Padua were selected as winners, each receiving a book to enjoy. Even more exciting—four additional winners will be receiving book bundles next week too!
A big well done to everyone who entered, and keep those book reviews coming in for a chance to win and continue building a love of reading 📚👏
