LFC FoundationThis International Women’s Day we’re looking at the importance of empowerment at LFC Foundation
This year’s theme of Inspiring Inclusion underscores the importance of fostering environments where everyone feels valued and empowered.
Everyone has a role to play in challenging stereotypes, biases, and systemic barriers that perpetuate inequality.
The LFC Foundation is inspiring inclusion across our range of programmes. We champion breaking down barriers and our mission of creating life changing opportunities is inclusive of all individuals of all backgrounds.
Premier League Inspires & Onside
Our Premier League Inspires and Onside team encouraged a group of girls from Chesterfield High School to take part in Premier League Changemakers.
The aim of PL Changemakers is to support young women by inspiring, empowering and equipping them with the tools to develop a positive attitude towards leadership.
The sessions took place over three days where the girls were taught about positive wellbeing, mindfulness and leadership amongst other things. We also had the honour of having guest speakers Paige Tomlinson, Abigail Rudkin and Jennifer Lee join us to discuss their careers.
The sessions culminated in a visit to World Museum Liverpool and VR Here where we met manager Laura Whisker to hear about female entrepreneurship

Works
Our employability team have been celebrating National Careers Week and inspiring inclusion for our female participants.
Over 280 young people attended our careers fair at Anfield on Wednesday to hear about career opportunities. We worked alongside Job Centre Plus to provide career support and highlight our employability programmes available to young people.
We’re inspiring inclusion across all of our employability programmes. Over the past 12 months 53% of our participants were female helping to equip them with valuable skills, knowledge, and opportunities to thrive in their careers.
We Empower
We launched We Empower in 2020 to help tackle gender stereotyping and raise children’s understanding of the types of discrimination and prejudices females and minorities face.
On Wednesday we held a festival for girls from three local primary schools where they were able to take part in football matches, mental health workshops and UV dodgeball games. Teamwork, strategic thinking, and communication skills learned from the day are useful in helping the young girls in their personal and professional relationships.
