From schools to community events, the team has been busy inspiring primary pupils across the Liverpool City Region. Here’s a look at the amazing activities and impact we’ve made together.

We Empower Girls’ Mini League kicks off new academic year

The We Empower programme is back for the new academic year, and we’re thrilled to relaunch the Anfield Girls’ Mini League!

Running since 20th November, the league has been engaging primary schools from across Liverpool City Region, giving Year 5 and Year 6 girls the chance to experience regular competitive football in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Led by Rachel Unsworth, LFC Foundation's We Empower Coordinator, the sessions are designed to do more than just develop football skills. By taking part, our young participants are building confidence, teamwork, resilience and a genuine love for the game whilst having fun!

The league also provides a great opportunity for girls to access meaningful competition, which helps build the grassroots game.

Rachel said, "It’s been a fantastic start to the season, with great energy, brilliant attitudes, and plenty of smiles both on and off the pitch. The league continues to play a vital role in empowering young girls through sport, helping them grow as players and individuals."

Young voices are driving an anti-smoking and anti-vaping campaign in Wirral

Continuing the theme of Social Action, pupils at Grove Street Primary School have been taking part in a powerful Project for Positive Change, focused on raising awareness of the dangers of vaping and smoking.

Led by LFC Foundation's Premier League Primary Stars Senior Coordinator, Annie Dunning, the children spent six weeks learning about the health impacts of these habits and developing creative ways to influence positive choices within their community.

Throughout the programme, pupils produced an educational video, alongside posters and information leaflets designed to inform their peers, families, and local residents.

In their final session, the pupils proudly presented their work to ABL Wirral, a local stop-smoking service where the team were hugely impressed by the passion behind the children’s messages.

As a result, ABL Wirral will now share the pupils’ creations across the community by distributing leaflets, displaying posters, creating a banner for the Grove Street Primary School gates, and even showing the video in local support groups and GP practices.

Annie said, "This initiative is a brilliant example of young people using their voices to drive real, meaningful change and make a positive impact on their community."

UK Parliament Week inspires pupils at Anfield

To celebrate UK Parliament Week, twelve schools visited Anfield for an immersive day of learning about Parliament, pupil voice, and the importance of democracy.

The event was delivered by LFC Foundation's Premier League Primary Stars Senior Coordinator, Annie Dunning and the Premier League Primary Stars team, who created an engaging and interactive experience for all pupils involved.

Throughout the day, children took part in lively debates, explored how they can use their voices to influence change, and shared bold ideas about what they would do if they were Prime Minister.

The highlight of the day was a general election-style vote, where pupils elected a brand-new Liverpool FC captain, putting their democratic skills into action. It was a fantastic day where we celebrated active citizenship in the inspiring surroundings of Anfield Stadium.

See below for some highlights from the day!

Premier League Primary Stars is the Premier League's primary school education programme. Funded by the Premier League, through the Premier League Foundation, the programme uses the appeal of football to help children to be active and develop essential life skills.

Inclusive Learning in Action at LFC Foundation’s SEN Festival

Our second SEN Inclusion Festival of the academic year took place at one of LFC Foundation's hubs, The Hive, and was organised by LFC Foundation's Inclusion Coordinator, Peter Silcock with fantastic support from the Education and Life Skills team.

Using our hubs for these festivals continues to break down barriers linked to travel, while also helping us build strong relationships and deliver meaningful engagement for all participants.

Our events make a huge different for our communities and are designed to ensure accessibility and inclusion remain at the heart of everything we do.

The festival was led by Peter, who guided pupils through a range of activities aimed at developing communication, teamwork, and gross motor skills. It was another brilliant event that highlights the importance of creating inclusive, accessible spaces where every young person can thrive.

A look at the world of work in football by talking to pupils at Holy Trinity's careers fair

We were delighted to attend the Careers Fair at Holy Trinity, Hoylake, where we engaged with pupils about the wide range of opportunities available across Liverpool Football Club and the LFC Foundation.

The session, delivered by Scott Hoather, LFC Foundation's Premier League Primary Stars Senior Coordinator, highlighted the many different career pathways within football, both on and off the pitch.

Pupils learned about roles in coaching, media, sports science, analysis, community work, and more, helping them understand how their skills and passions could translate into exciting future careers.

The children were buzzing with excitement and inspiration, asking thoughtful questions and showing real curiosity about what their own futures might look like. It was a brilliant event filled with energy, ambition, and imagination from the young people of Holy Trinity.
