LFC FoundationHoneysuckle FC welcomed Mandem FC for their latest friendly fixture, bringing two inspiring community teams together
Before kick-off, players, families and supporters observed a moment of remembrance and reflection.
For Honeysuckle FC, the match held special significance, as players wore the names of their babies on the backs of their shirts whilst on the sidelines, Honeysuckle mums, rainbow babies, siblings and extended families gathered with their purple scarves to show support and cheer the team on.
The game itself was an entertaining contest, with Mandem FC edging a 6–4 victory. However, beyond the score line, new friendships were formed, and a spirit of togetherness grew stronger as both teams shared stories, experiences and hope after the final whistle. Families and supporters joined the players for food and drinks, continuing conversations over hot pizza and cold refreshments.
To conclude a memorable afternoon, Mandem FC kindly presented two player of the match trophies, recognising standout performances and celebrating the positivity and connection fostered throughout the event.
The fixture served as another reminder of the power of football to bring people together, create safe spaces, and help communities support one another through shared experiences.
