For Honeysuckle FC, the match held special significance, as players wore the names of their babies on the backs of their shirts whilst on the sidelines, Honeysuckle mums, rainbow babies, siblings and extended families gathered with their purple scarves to show support and cheer the team on.

The game itself was an entertaining contest, with Mandem FC edging a 6–4 victory.
