In August, participants took part in the Foundation's first ever Pathway to Work: Women into Sport programme which was a week-long initiative designed to introduce women to the wide range of careers available within sport.

Held from August 24 to 28, the programme gave participants the chance to hear from inspiring figures from across the sport industry, including former Liverpool FC Women players Natasha Dowie and Becky Easton, as well as LFC Foundation’s Community Ambassador Chris Kirkland. Throughout the week, attendees gained firsthand insight into different career pathways while exploring the skills and experiences needed to succeed in the industry.

As part of the programme, participants completed a Level 1 Sports Leaders qualification and attended the Foundation's sport-themed Career Club, helping them further develop their knowledge and confidence as they consider their future career options.

One participant said: "I learnt that I deserve to be in these rooms and setbacks are only temporary."

The Foundation’s monthly Career Club, turned towards sport’s careers which provided another opportunity for young people to engage with industry professionals and hear honest accounts of the journeys that led them to their current roles.

Held at Anfield, the event welcomed speakers from a variety of sectors across the sporting landscape, showcasing the breadth of opportunities available off the pitch. Attendees heard from Former Player and LFC Ambassador Senior Coordinator Cameron Loynd, Racing Media's Lee Moulson and Lewis Knowles, Liverpool FC's Senior Specialist for Social Media Michael Manning, Performance Psychologist Kya O'Donnell and Ninja Warrior Henry Cookey.

Each speaker shared their own career experiences which provided practical advice and insights into the challenges and opportunities they encountered along the way. The event also gave attendees the chance to speak directly with professionals after the presentations to create valuable networking opportunities and allowing for more personalised career guidance.

Together, the programmes demonstrate LFC Foundation's commitment to breaking down barriers to employment and helping participants build the confidence, skills and connections needed to take the next step in their careers.

The next Career Club event will focus on careers within the retail industry and will take place at Anfield Stadium on Friday September 25.
