LFC FoundationFoundation visit Chicago Fire programme which supports Dads who have experienced baby loss
LFC Foundation visited a programme delivered by Chicago Fire that supports Dads who have experienced baby loss, as part of Liverpool FC’s 2026 USA pre-season tour.
The programme is based on LFC Foundation’s hugely successful and empowering ‘Honeysuckle FC’ which the Foundation delivers in partnership with Liverpool Women’s Hospital supporting Dads in Merseyside.
The programme is designed to support men who have experienced baby loss, and provides a safe environment for men to spend time enjoying physical activity whilst allowing them to feel that they have the support of not only clinical staff, but from their teammates to talk about baby loss and the wider impact that can have.
Whilst on tour, the Foundation team, including chair of Trustees, Steve Varley, took part in the session and games and spoke to the group at the end of the session highlighting the importance of the programme and the synergy between the work of the LFC Foundation and Chicago Fire.
The visit is one of a number of community events being delivered by LFC Foundation during Liverpool FC’s time in the USA, including hospital visits, soccer clinics and meet & greets with current and former players.
