LFC FoundationFootball Tournament raising funds for Military Veterans brings another successful year
The Tournament took place last month and raised an impressive £1000.
The Stellar Group’s annual charity tournament took place on Thursday, September 5th and was another successful year for this fantastic event! The football tournament, this year supporting military veterans, saw 120 players in 12 teams compete at The Power League Liverpool in Kirkdale. The tournament was created with the aim to raise funds for the Military Veterans Programme, part funded by The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust.
Among the players, 12 of our fantastic LFC Foundation Military Veterans participants took part in the tournament, showcasing both their skill and their unwavering spirit for the cause on the pitch. Their involvement was a shining example of the strength and resilience of the veteran community. Dave Fox, military veteran in the LFC Foundation program and NHS worker, said “this has been a fantastic opportunity to get together with like-minded people, and raise vital funds for a programme that has changed my own life, and that of many other veterans. I’m proud to have been involved!”
Over £1000 was raised from the event and will be used to contribute towards a family Christmas event for the Veterans community. Ste Hollis, Military Veterans lead “We’re honoured to have been invited to be a part of the event. Great atmosphere, with great people, all for a great cause!”
Overall, the tournament not only provided an opportunity for some thrilling football but also played a key role in raising awareness and support for veterans, highlighting the importance of community, teamwork, and giving back. Thank you to all those that attended and raised funds. You can learn more about our Military Veterans programme here.
