Supporting the people around our homes in Anfield, Kirkby and Melwood
Summer Beach Clean Up
Our LFC volunteers turned up at Crosby beach, armed with litter pickers and bin bags this week to get involved in a beach clean up.
One minute the volunteers were looking for suncream, the next they were putting on their waterproofs as they battled through a proper British Summer's Day to make a huge impact in improving spaces that everyone in our community can enjoy.
A huge thank you to Jen and the volunteer team for making a difference.
Welcome Reds
We held a Welcome Reds session in The Sandon with special guest speaker Margaret Aspinall.
The room was full of questions, history and emotion.
We love giving our fans and local community the chance to be part of these amazing sessions, to hear the stories and retell the memories. It's days like these that show why we are part of the Greater Football Family in the world.
PLPFA Red Neighbours Community
We hosted some really competitive walking football sessions with a few worthy man of the match performances!
Basil took the prize in Mondays session pictured with LFC Foundation ambassador Chris Kirkland.
We also supported the Brunny’s summer camp with a special appearance from Big Ears.
The trophy took centre stage for our art activity with multiple prizes awarded including a tour of Anfield for the worthy winner.
Participants also enjoyed a free lunch provided by Homebaked.
Man2Man
We hosted 38 participants from local men’s mental health charity Sean’s place at Anfield, participants enjoyed a guided tour, walking in the footsteps of their heroes, and taking a look behind the scenes.
This was described by several participants as “a dream come true” the lads enjoyed tucking into a Homebaked pie at the end of the tour where they shared photos and their experiences on the tour with each other.
One photo captured the day perfectly, proving “at the end of the storm, there’s a golden sky”
Monday Club
This month, Red Neighbours welcomed 94 people from our local community to Monday Club.
One of the Red Neighbours goals is to tackle social isolation in our communities. By bringing together people to take part in a fun game of bingo is a great way for us all to keep our eyes on the prize.
