LFC FoundationChampion of the Month: October 2023
Congratulations to the Year 3 class at St John Bosco who are our Champion of the Month for October!
The year 3 class was nominated by #iwill coordinator Megan Dykes for their great ambition and wonderful personality during their social action programme!
Megan said:
“The whole year 3 class raised £650.30 for The Whitechapel Centre as they focused their social action project on Homelessness and raising awareness through campaigning and fundraising. They went above and beyond organizing their own raffle and as well as that a donation box full of clothes and food for the food bank”.
The teacher quoted:
“Our Year 3 Class at St John Bosco Catholic Primary school thoroughly enjoyed the LFC Foundation work that we did with Meg during our 6-week programme. The sessions were well thought out and gave children an opportunity to think carefully about how they would like to make a difference within our community. The skills and knowledge that children developed during this time was moving. They learnt about society in general, homelessness as their focus and fundraising methods. From this, they agreed how they would like to raise awareness, money and donations for a centre that was familiar with Meg. Amazingly, through the hard work and determination of our class, we managed to raise £650.30 for The Whitechapel Centre. The children did this by taking part in sponsored steps and running their very own raffle in which, they developed leadership qualities. I am immensely proud of each and every one of them for taking part in this campaign and hope to work with LFC Foundation in the coming years. Thank you!”
Megan went on to say what the class have changed as a result of this…
“They have now inspired the other classes in the school to do their own fundraisers through out the year as well as they are able to present the cheque sent through from the Whitechapel proudly on their wall in the school reception to show everyone of their hard work.”
