LFC duo Alisson Becker and Ceri Holland have been named PFA Community Champions for 2025.

Both players have been recognised for their support of the club’s official charity, the LFC Foundation, which has seen them out in the city giving back to supporters and the wider community.

The PFA Community Champions award aims to highlight players who have made work within communities and for good causes central to their role as a footballer.

Alisson most recently worked with the LFC Foundation to surprise this season’s Premier League Community Captain Mark Henderson with his award for his commitment to improving people’s health across the Liverpool City Region through his work with the Foundation.

The surprise visit from the Reds goalkeeper included an invitation to Anfield to be presented with his award on a matchday as well as a trip to the AXA Training Centre to catch up with Alisson and head coach Arne Slot.

LFC’s No.1 also helped launch the Alisson Becker Brazil Floods Appeal with the LFC Foundation to help support people affected by devasting floods in his home state of Rio Grande do Sul, which saw hundreds of thousands of people displaced from their homes.

LFC Women forward Ceri has been a regular supporter of the LFC Foundation and throughout the 2024-25 season she helped to launch the latest LFC Foundation Hub at St Helens Stadium to help provide more opportunities for people of all ages in St Helens.

The Welsh international also spent time visiting programmes led by LFC Foundation’s Red Neighbours team throughout the season in her own time, including visits to the Monday Club, which is a monthly initiative for older locals and care home residents, focusing on combating social isolation and providing a fun, social atmosphere.

Matt Parish, CEO of the LFC Foundation, said: “It’s always fantastic to have the support of the players from both the men’s and women’s team and Alisson and Ceri have been brilliant examples of how their involvement can help amplify the work we are doing.

“Thank you to both of them for their support of the LFC Foundation this year and we look forward to building on that once again during the new season.”
