Liverpool want Bayern Munich doctor Andreas Schlumberger, according to reports in Germany.

Liverpool have already taken head of fitness Andreas Kornmayer from Bayern Munich, along with head of nutrition Mona Nemmer.

And the Reds are now said to be planning a swoop for the Bundesliga champions' doctor Andreas Schlumberger.

German newspaper Bild claims Jurgen Klopp has requested he joins him at Anfield, having previously worked with him at Borussia Dortmund.

Schlumberger left Dortmund for Bayern in 2015 at the same time Klopp departed the Westfalenstadion.

However, the Liverpool boss may struggle to convince Schlumberger to join him in the Premier League.

The report claims the doctor wishes to see out the remainder of his contract with the Bundesliga side, which runs until 2019.

But Bild suggest Bayern do have a suitable replacement for Schlumberger in current fitness coach Holger Broich.

And the club have shown they are willing to change their backroom staff in recent weeks, promoting Giovanni Mauri to the role of head of fitness.

Liverpool’s current club doctor is Andrew Massey, who took on the role in 2015, after a year serving on an interim basis.
