Liverpool head into the 231st Merseyside derby with Everton on Saturday seeking to set a new league record for away wins.

Should Jürgen Klopp's side triumph at Goodison Park, it will be the Reds' 680th victory on the road in the English top flight, beating the landmark previously set by Arsenal.

The boss is unbeaten in five derby clashes in all competitions and won the last Premier League trip to Everton 1-0 thanks to a last-gasp Sadio Mane strike.

Liverpool have won as many Merseyside derbies at Goodison as Everton have - 40 each in all competitions.

And the Reds have scored 119 away goals in league derbies, just two fewer than the Blues themselves.

Liverpool have not lost in 16 encounters with Everton across all competitions - a record for the Reds in Merseyside derbies.

Should Klopp's side avoid defeat in this one, the Reds will equal the club record of seven matches unbeaten in the league at Goodison, set between 1913 and 1922.

Home and away, Liverpool have lost just one of the last 22 league meetings - at Everton in October 2010, when goals from Mikel Arteta and Tim Cahill secured a 2-0 win for the Toffees.

Mane has scored in two of his four games against the Blues for the Reds.

Of the players in Liverpool's current squad, the Senegal forward has scored the most derby goals.

Mohamed Salah has scored 38 goals in all competitions this season, with 12 coming away from home in the league. Only Luis Suarez has netted more away goals for the Reds in a Premier League season, scoring 14 in 2013-14.

Salah has scored in 29 Liverpool games this season. The only player to find the net in more matches of a single campaign is Ian Rush, who scored in 32 in 1983-84.

The Reds' front three of Salah (38), Roberto Firmino (23) and Mane (16) have plundered 77 goals between them this season. This equals the club record by any trio in a single Liverpool campaign, set in 1961-62 by Roger Hunt, Ian St John and Jimmy Melia.

Liverpool have scored 116 goals in total this season - only in six previous seasons have they ever scored more. It is their highest tally since the 119 they recorded in 2007-08.

James Milner's successful penalty against Everton in the 2-1 FA Cup win at Anfield in January came after Dirk Kuyt (2011 at Goodison) and Daniel Sturridge (2014 at Anfield) had missed the last two.

Nathaniel Clyne could make his first appearance for Liverpool since the final day of last season against Middlesbrough.
