Our cameras joined Jürgen Klopp and the Liverpool first-team squad as they made their annual Christmas visit to Alder Hey Children's Hospital on Monday.

The manager and his players took the short trip from Melwood to the specialist centre in West Derby, which cares for more than 270,000 children, young people and families each year.

Their aim was to spread some festive cheer among the hospital’s wards by chatting to patients and parents, posing for photographs, signing autographs and handing out special gifts.

And, as one group including Philippe Coutinho, Jordan Henderson and Danny Ings showed, local football rivalry was no barrier to putting a smile on a child’s face this Christmas.
