Dominic Solanke may only be just out of his teens, but the striker is already familiar with the fact that things can change quickly in football.

And he has vowed to be ready for any shift in his circumstances after a low-key start to his Liverpool career.

Solanke has made 10 appearances for the Reds since his summer move from Chelsea, but just one of those has come as a start - during September's League Cup defeat to Leicester City.

The 20-year-old isn't losing faith, however, and is working hard to ensure he is prepared for any opportunities that come his way.

"You've just got to keep working hard," he told the Liverpool Echo.

"Obviously at a big club like Liverpool there's always going to be great players and sometimes to get past them is hard but you've just got to keep working and play your part for the team.

"I think with football, it can go in all different ways and it can change very quickly as we've seen with many players.

"There could be injury or something injuries and you can go from a low spot to a high spot very quickly so however your opportunity comes you've just got to try to take it."

Solanke also revealed how much he is enjoying life at Liverpool after making the difficult decision to depart Stamford Bridge.

"The move was quite easy for me, all the boys made me feel welcome, all the staff made me feel welcome," he added.

"It's a great club. everyone's looking forward to what we can do in the season.

"It's been a good start and it's still early so we'll keep pushing in the Premier League and hopefully we'll qualify in the Champions league as well."
