Ahead of Liverpool's EFL Cup clash with Leeds United at Anfield tonight, here are 11 facts and figures on the quarter-final from club statistician Ged Rea.

The teams are meeting for the first time in this competition since 2009, when a David Ngog goal proved enough for Liverpool to claim a third-round win at Elland Road.

In the last fixture between the sides at Anfield, the Reds won 3-1 courtesy of goals from Michael Owen, Danny Murphy and Florent Sinama-Pongolle. On that day in October 2003, Leeds had James Milner, Dominic Matteo and Jermaine Pennant in their line-up.

Only two Liverpool players have ever netted a hat-trick against the Yorkshire club, both at Anfield and both in the league – Gordon Hodgson in 1935 and Roger Hunt in 1961.

The Reds have played 21 League Cup fifth-round games and are aiming to reach the semi-finals for a record 17th time.

They have won their last three ties at this stage of the competition, defeating Southampton last season, Bournemouth in 2014 and Chelsea in 2011.

Of Liverpool's 110 home games in the League Cup, they have lost only 11, while they have failed to score in only six of their last 92 ties in this tournament.

Only Emre Can, Nathaniel Clyne and Divock Origi have appeared in all three of the Reds' League Cup fixtures so far this season.

Liverpool have not lost at Anfield in 20 games, since a League Cup defeat by Stoke City in January – their longest unbeaten sequence at home since a 32-match run from February 2008 to March 2009.

Milner played 54 times for Leeds and scored five goals, at the start of his career (2002-04), making one appearance for them in this competition. He has never scored against his hometown club.

Garry Monk has lost all five clashes with Liverpool as a manager – each with Swansea City, including a 2-1 defeat on this ground in the League Cup in 2014.

The Leeds boss was on the losing side as a manager on this date 12 months ago, as a Milner penalty was good enough to see off Swansea at Anfield.
