Cake boss! Fan marks Jürgen Klopp's birthday in unique fashion
Liverpool fans around the world have been toasting a Happy Birthday to Jürgen Klopp today – but one man has taken his well-wishes that little bit further in the form of a cake sculpted to resemble the head of the boss...
Cake artist Ben Cullen has created a unique tribute to commemorate the manager turning 49 - click play above to watch some timelapse footage for free.
Taking four days to make, the sweet treat is fully edible – apart from the lenses in the glasses and the inner support tube – and was produced using a delicious mix of melted marshmallows, Rice Krispies, chocolate sponge and chocolate-flavoured buttercream.
The 26-year-old said: “I made the cake because I am surrounded by Liverpool fans within my circle of friends and my family, and I like what I have seen of Jürgen.
“He is a great character and has quickly become an iconic and recognisable figure within the sporting world.”
Klopp cake done, Ben’s next task is opening up a specialist store near Chester.
He added: “I am just in the process of opening my own shop based just outside of Chester where I will make cake art sculptures and look to push the artistic boundaries within cake-making.”
