Adam Lallana has confirmed he has returned to full fitness and is ready to give everything he can to help Liverpool get back to winning ways - starting tonight against Bordeaux.

The midfielder has missed the Reds’ last three matches after sustaining a thigh injury in August.

However, Lallana returned to training last week and was part of the squad that touched down in France on Wednesday afternoon ahead of this evening’s Europa League clash.

He told reporters at the Nouveau Stade Bordeaux: “I’m fully fit now. I trained on Friday, so obviously that was too late for United at the weekend, but I’ve had three or four days of good training now and I’m ready for tonight.

“It was disappointing to have another setback, but these are the things as a footballer you have to deal with. Sometimes it is frustrating. It was two or three weeks, but hopefully now I’ll be fit for the foreseeable future and the rest of the season.

“I’m just delighted to be back fit and able to help the team hopefully get a good couple of results in the next few days.

“The Europa League is a huge competition. I’ve never played in it before, and it’s a great chance to get back into the Champions League, which is where we want to be having had a taste of it last season.”

Liverpool go into the clash on the back of successive defeats in the Barclays Premier League to West Ham and Manchester United.

Nevertheless, with four consecutive Anfield matches to follow – starting on Sunday against Norwich City - Lallana is adamant in his belief the Reds will soon be back on track.

“I’ve got an immense amount of confidence,” he stated. “As a club, we’ve got to stick together through the good times and the bad times.

“We’ve had a couple of bad results, but by no means is that going to continue. We’ve got a good chance tonight to gain a good bit of momentum and take it back home with us before the game on Sunday.”

Lallana added: “It’s our job to play football and no matter how we do - no matter whether it’s good or bad - people are always going to have their opinions. It’s best we just concentrate on doing our job and let people speculate, whether it’s good, bad or indifferent.

“We’ve just got to focus on our job – and our next job is a tough game tomorrow night. We’ll look to get a positive result and then obviously it’s a quick turnaround before the next Premier League game.

“There are so many games coming along now, we need just to keep focusing on our job because at the end of the day, that’s the only thing we can control.”
