Liverpool's first-team players and staff made a special Christmas trip to Alder Hey children's hospital on Wednesday - and our cameras accompanied them on an afternoon of mixed emotions.

For the likes of Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez and manager Brendan Rodgers, the visit was both poignant and uplifting as the squad toured the hospital's wards in an attempt to bring some festive cheer to the young patients.

The Reds split into five groups and made their way around, dishing out presents, chatting to parents, posing for photos and signing autographs - and we've embedded a free clip of the day's events below.
