This year will see the sixth memorial golf day and fundraiser in memory of Anne Williams, who passed away from cancer in 2013.

Anne lost her 15-year-old son Kevin at Hillsborough and she fought tirelessly right up until her last days to seek the truth about his death at the disaster, which claimed the lives of 96 Liverpool fans in 1989.

The Anne Williams Memorial Golf Day will take place at Huyton and Prescot Golf Club on Friday July 6, and is another successful sell-out event. There are 70 golfers taking part this year and over 20 people are registered on the waiting list.

Since this event began, various charities have benefited from the funds raised - and this year’s main charity is An Hour for Others, based in Anfield.

Over the past four years the charity has achieved so much including:

  • Refurbished community centres, homes of isolated elderly men and women families living in poverty and terminally ill children.
  • Sent hundreds of local under privileged children and deserving families’ VIP style to football matches and concerts.
  • Provided a platform for huge local businesses to volunteer staff to meet CSR responsibilities.
  • Provided thousands of pounds worth of hampers, warm clothes, toys and presents to many families living in poverty and so much more.

This has all been achieved by kind hearted men and women stepping forward and offering what they can to build a stronger and caring community.

The charity is proud to have LFC player Trent Alexander-Arnold as their very first ambassador.

Also, this year Autism Adventures Liverpool will receive a donation for the great work that they do.

The Anne Williams Memorial Golf Day is looking for items to be donated that can be raffled or auctioned to raise funds. If you would like to help, please contact Sean Doyle via SeanDoyle1966@hotmail.com.
