Liverpool FC were delighted to this week host the official launch of a book celebrating one of the club's greatest servants - Ronnie Moran.

'Mr Liverpool' tells the story of the 49 years of Anfield service that saw Moran help claim 24 major honours in the roles of player, first-team coach and even caretaker manager.

From Bill Shankly to Bob Paisley, Joe Fagan and Kenny Dalglish - some of the most iconic names in the club’s history shared a dugout with a man affectionately known as 'Bugsy'.

To mark the release of Moran's autobiography, the club hosted a special night at their Liverpool One Store on February 28 – the day of Ronnie's 83rd birthday.

Former Reds captain Phil Thompson hosted the event, and was joined by fellow legends Roy Evans, Phil Neal and Alan Kennedy, while Jamie Carragher paid a visit.

Ronnie's son Paul and the book's authors Carl Clemente and Arnie Baldursson were also in attendance as an incredible Anfield story was officially launched.

Having shared in so many successes together in the Anfield dugout, Evans is perhaps better equipped than most to quantify Moran's standing in the club's history.

Evans told Liverpoolfc.com: “Ronnie Moran means everything when it comes to Liverpool Football Club.

“Ronnie was there when I first came to the club and worked right through into my era when I was manager. There is nobody better who has given so many years’ service to Liverpool than Ronnie.

“I am delighted this book is out because it’s important this story gets told, because whenever Liverpool have been successful this man has always been in the middle of it and a big part of it.

“I don’t read many books to be fair but I might just read this one because I think it is a real down to earth story about a great man who did great things for our football club.”

Explaining the idea for the book, Paul Moran said: “It started last year. I wanted to do a book about my dad and I wouldn’t have got anything like we have got now without Carl and Arnie’s help - me helping them is what it basically is.

“The work Carl and Arnie have done has been brilliant and they have made my job easy.

“I’m especially proud looking at how the book looks and we hope people will enjoy it.”

'Mr Liverpool', Ronnie Moran the official life story, is available from the club's online store priced at £20. Click here to purchase the book now.
