Post-match

A date for the diary

Audi Cup final
Liverpool v Atletico Madrid
Wednesday August 2
7.30pm BST

Full Time

Bayern Munich 0-3 Liverpool

An excellent performance from the Reds sees them into tomorrow's Audi Cup final.

Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Daniel Sturridge the scorers as Liverpool set up a meeting with Atletico Madrid.

87

Substitution

Sturridge appeared to pick up a slight issue in scoring that goal and, taking no risks, Klopp brings in Solanke instead.

83

Goal

Bayern Munich 0-3 Liverpool (Sturridge)

That one definitely counts.

Woodburn plays a brilliant outside-of-the-boot pass down the right win for Sturridge and provides enough curl to play the striker in one-on-one.

He's deadly in that position and proves it with a dinked finish over the 'keeper. Stunning.

82

Lewandowski stands over a free-kick in a promising area for the hosts but the wall does its job and diverts the ball over the bar.

The subsquent corner sees Hummels slide a low delivery past the post.

80

Bayern clear a corner as far as Alberto Moreno, who has been excellent tonight.

His well-struck shot whistles past the post, though.

78

Substitution

Philippe Coutinho and Trent Alexander-Arnold now make way for Ben Woodburn and Jon Flanagan.

71

Disallowed Goal

Liverpool score a third but it doesn't count.

Kent dances around his man on the edge of the penalty box and tees up Grujic, who sidefoots one in beautifully off the post.

Unfortunately, after the celebrations, the referee refers to VAR to see if the offside Lallana was in any way obstructing the goalkeeper - a decision that goes against the Englishman.

67

Substitution

A quadruple substitution for Liverpool.

Mo Salah, Joel Matip, Roberto Firmino and Jordan Henderson make way as Ryan Kent, Ragnar Klavan, Daniel Sturridge and Marko Grujic replace them.

59

James Rodriguez lines one up at the edge of the box but his half-volley is skewed wide, well beyond Loris Karius' dive.

53

Some brilliant interplay works Lallana into space in front of the Bayern back four and the No.20 plays an inch-perfect through-ball to Salah.

Unfortunately, the forward is flagged offside - rightly, according to replays.

49

Liverpool defend a corner and launch a counter in numbers but, just as Firmino looks to play Trent in, he is cynically dragged back.

46

Kick-Off

Liverpool get the game back under way through Roberto Firmino.

Half-time

Here come the teams - we're almost ready to restart.

Half-time

Substitution

Two changes for the Reds at the break.

Gini Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana replace Emre Can and Sadio Mane.

Half-time

Match shot

Four goals for Liverpool already for Mo Salah.

Half Time

Bayern Munich 0-2 Liverpool

Well, that was quite the first-half performance.

Goals from the Reds' fleet-footed widemen, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah, the difference at the break here.

44

Free-kick for Liverpool on the left-hand side of the box, but Coutinho can't get enough curl on it to sneak it in at the back post.

39

Liverpool have been ruthless and pacey going forward but equally impressive in their defending thus far.

That backline is moving as one, leaving Bayern very little space to work with.

35

Goal

Bayern Munich 0-2 Liverpool (Salah)

The Reds work the ball into the hosts' box where Mane feeds Moreno on the left, giving the Spaniard plenty of space to pick out his cross.

The goalkeeper gets a hand on a driven pass across the area but fails to divert it beyond Salah, who has the simple task of nodding in from close range.

25

So close!

Moreno curls a free-kick toward the top corner of the Bayern goal but a strong palm from the hosts' goalkeeper stops it.

That was some effort from the Spaniard.

20

Substitution

Muller gets the ball in space at the edge of the box but his effort is high and wide.

Meanwhile, an injury to Thiago has forced Bayern to called on Sanches with just 20 minutes gone.

13

Another rapid Liverpool counter releases Moreno down the left-hand side and his brilliant ball across the box finds the arriving Salah.

Unfortunately, the Egyptian's low, right-footed finish is palmed away.

"Lightning on and off the pitch," a colleague declares.

12

Match shot

The aftermath of the opener.

7

Goal

Bayern Munich 0-1 Liverpool (Mane)

The Reds in front with less than 10 minutes on the clock.

Firmino pinches the ball high up the pitch and waits and waits and waits before slipping in Mane on the left, the Senegalese taking a touch before finishing emphatically.

Great start.

4

Lightning streaking across the sky above us, while Bayern are enjoying plenty of the ball in the early stages.

Liverpool looking to soak up pressure and hit on the counter at the moment.

Kick-Off

Atletico Madrid 2-1 Napoli

Now time to find out which of these sides Liverpool will take on tomorrow.

Pre-match

Atletico Madrid 2-1 Napoli (Vietto)

Simeone's men turn it around!

Carrasco's corner is flicked on to the back post, where Vietto is on hand to divert the ball home.

Pre-match

Atletico Madrid 1-1 Napoli (Torres)

Back to the early kick-off, and Atletico are level.

Pre-match

Atletico Madrid 0-1 Napoli (Callejon)

What a goal!

Ghoulam's cross to the back post finds Callejon, who sends a volley into the turf and bouncing beyond Oblak's despairing dive.

Pre-match

Half-time in the first match of the day and it's Atletico Madrid 0-0 Napoli.

Diego Simeone's team have goalkeeper Jan Oblak to thank for the fact the scores remain level, his penalty save from Arkadiusz Milik the key moment in the first half.

Pre-match

Saved!

No opening goal, though.

A strong dive to the left from Oblak is matched by equally strong hands and Milik hangs his head in disappointment.

Pre-match

Penalty to Napoli!

Callejon stretches to reach a ball crossed into the box and is hacked down by Savic's desperate lunge.

Pre-match

Twenty-five minutes on the clock in Munich and the first real chance of the game.

Antoine Griezmann produces a glancing header that looks destined for the bottom corner, but Pepe Reina produces a fine reflex save to keep it out, then stops Nico Gaitan's backheeled follow-up.

Great goalkeeping from the former Reds shot-stopper.

Jürgen Klopp will have to reshuffle his pack against Bayern.

Joe Gomez and Divock Origi have been ruled out of both Audi Cup matches, while Danny Ings will not be called upon as the club carefully manage his recovery from long-term injury.

However, Dejan Lovren, James Milner, Loris Karius, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ben Woodburn and Marko Grujic come back into contention to face the Bundesliga side.

Pre-match

Fair to say the Reds have been in excellent form this pre-season, winning four of their five fixtures so far - most recently a 3-0 victory against Hertha BSC in Berlin on Saturday.
