Of course, we'll be back in a matter of hours to bring you all of the latest from California - including free live coverage of the Reds' open training session and much more.

Mamadou Sakho is always fantastic entertainment in front of the camera and it was no different when we gave the Frenchman a GoPro camera for the team's visit to Alcatraz Island.

Would any of the players last longer there than his claim of 100 years?

And how would the manager react when Sakho interrupted an interview with LFCTV?

We got great pictures during Robbie Fowler and Luis Garcia's tour of San Francisco bay, which involved everything from crab to chocolate!

It took five hours and 'hurt a lot' but Philippe Coutinho is pleased with the tattoo he had done on his right forearm over the summer.

He told us: “I don’t have plans for anymore now… only if I have another child!"

We've just caught up with Philippe Coutinho for an interview at the team hotel in Palo Alto. Stay logged on to Liverpoolfc.com to hear what our No.10 had to say about how he's aiming to improve, his verdict on the new signings and details of his new tattoo...

Ian Rush, Gary McAlllister, Mighty Red and LFC Foundation coaches visited Street Soccer USA in San Francisco to deliver a training session. Click here for the full gallery.

The manager tried his hand at Scouse - again - as he described Georginio Wijnaldum earlier today. It made for a must-see clip, which you can watch for free below.

Liverpool's squad have returned to the team hotel after tonight's training session - and they've been greeted by Simon Mignolet and Christian Benteke, who have arrived to begin pre-season preparations with the Reds.

Divock Origi is also due in Palo Alto imminently.

Wijnaldum to arrive in America on Saturday

The Reds' latest signing will join the pre-season tour on Saturday and should be ready to take part in training immediately, the manager has told us.

Away from the main group, Pepijn Lijnders is working England quintet James Milner, Adam Lallana, Daniel Sturridge, Nathaniel Clyne and Jordan Henderson hard, as well as new signing Ragnar Klavan.

The six players are taking one or two touches and firing the ball back to a teammate before moving around four markers in a clockwise direction.

I feel tired just watching them.

The Reds are back at Stanford University campus for thier evening training session. It's a fairly warm evening here in California, but tonight's work out will include plenty of ball work, so it'll be a hard one for the lads.

Crab, anyone?

Reds legends Robbie Fowler and Luis Garcia headed down to San Francisco bay this morning to take in some local culture.

After arriving at Fishermans Wharf, the duo went to the famous Franciscan restaurant for a bite to eat. There, they were treated to local delicacy clam chowder followed by an array of sea food, including quite possibly the largest crab we've ever seen.

After that, there was a quick pit-stop at Ghirardelli Square's chocolate store.

Caption competition...

New arrival Ragnar Klavan also spoke to us this morning.

After a whirlwind few days for the Estonia international, he said at the training ground: "You see that this team has really good players. They are friendly and help me a lot. You can see the team spirit is really good here. I'm really excited."

Training, lunch, Liverpoolfc.com!

After taking training this morning and then enjoying a spot of lunch at the team hotel, the manager sat down with Liverpoolfc.com for a chat about the signing of Georginio Wijnaldum and how pre-season has gone so far.

It's fair to say Jürgen is excited on both fronts - so stay logged on to read and watch the interview in full soon.

Georginio Wijnaldum talked Jürgen Klopp, the Anfield atmosphere and Dirk Kuyt in his first interview as an LFC player.

Klopp has delivered instructions and dispatched the players on an endurance exercise, with the manager and his backroom team watching carefully from the touchline.

13 players are part of the day's opening session, which is being overseen by Andreas Kornmayer. The group includes captain Jordan Henderson, Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho. And the conditions could not be more pleasant - 30 degrees celsius and the clearest skies you could ever see.

LFC legends and club ambassadors Robbie Fowler and Luis Garcia have a busy morning ahead.

They're heading out for a bit of culture in San Francisco. The duo will be taking in the Crab wheel at Fishermans Wharf, the Franciscan restaurant and Ghirardelli Square.

The players are currently boarding the bus for their second day of training at Stanford University. A gaggle of fans have gathered nearby and Daniel Sturridge and Adam Lallana were among those happily stopping for a selfie or two.

The sessions are again staggered throughout the day, designed to continue a steady build towards optimum fitness.

Adam Lallana is delighted to be back in training as he joined up with his teammates in the USA after returning from the Euros.

We caught up with him as he tells us about how privileged the squad are to be in America, why the new season promises to be the most competitive yet and why Sadio Mane can light up the Kop.

For the duration of the Reds' tour of the USA, Danny Ings will be writing an exclusive blog for Liverpoolfc.com.

It is absolutely brilliant for everyone connected with LFC to see Danny back in action and scoring goals in pre-season.

In his first update, the striker reflects on the opening day on the West Coast, the impact the return of the England quintet has had and outlines what he is hoping to achieve during our time Stateside... Click here to read more.

Alex Manninger is delighted to be a Red after signing in a deal subject to international clearance.

Boss backs Reds to return better from USA tour

Liverpool will return from America in better shape than when they left thanks to the hard work of the players during their pre-season tour, Jürgen Klopp has predicted.

The boss is pleased with the training facilities at Stanford University and told Liverpoolfc.com: “The facilities at Stanford are outstanding, what a great place. It’s a real sports place, not only football but a lot of different kinds of sports.

"I love the atmosphere there. We will use this and we will come home better than we left England.” Click here to read more from the boss.

Reds pay a special visit to Alcatraz

One of the highlights of our opening day was a special trip to Alcatraz Island on Thursday afternoon, when captain Jordan Henderson, Mamadou Sakho and the squad had their camera phones at the ready on The Rock.

Take a look at our full gallery here.

It's day two of LFC's tour of the USA. For all the latest news and updates be sure to follow this blog throughout the day.
