Bezzies'This is wrong' – Frimpong and Wirtz reveal argument meme misunderstanding
Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz have corrected a misunderstanding about footage of them that became a meme earlier this year.
The pair were pictured gesticulating to each other on the bench during a game in March, while previously teammates at Bayer Leverkusen.
It was assumed by many that the close friends were arguing directly.
But in a new edition of Bezzies – filmed on Liverpool’s current tour of Asia – they put the record straight.
“This is wrong! People get it wrong,” says Wirtz when the image is shown.
Frimpong replies: “I saw this on social media…”
And providing the context that they were actually reacting emotionally to being behind in an important game with Bayern Munich, Wirtz adds: “We were down against Bayern in the Champions League and then the head starts [getting frustrated].”
