Our We Love You Liverpool feature aims to bring supporters closer together to learn more about each other wherever they are based around the globe.

Here, we meet OLSC Guatemala…

Tell us about the OLSC…

Our OLSC began back in 2010 when Liverpool FC’s official account congratulated Guatemala on its Independence Day. In the comments, several supporters started interacting and realised there were more people in the country who followed Liverpool.

It’s fascinating to hear our members’ stories, as most of them believed for many years that they were the only Liverpool fan around. That’s what made our early connection so special – being able to talk, debate and share with others who had the same passion was simply incredible.

From 2009 to 2016, we mostly kept in touch via a WhatsApp group and had very occasional meet-ups. But in 2016, with the arrival of new members, the group took a different direction, and we began working hard to formalise the club. We eventually became an official OLSC in 2019. Today, we have over 80 loyal and active members.

How special is it to have the supporters club where you are?

Wow, it’s hard to put into words how important this club is to our community. It’s a fundamental part of our lives. We’ve built strong friendships and shared unforgettable moments – both related to football and to our personal lives. Through the highs and the lows, one thing remains constant: every weekend, we get together to watch Liverpool and enjoy our love for the club. This club has genuinely changed the lives of many of our members. It’s a space for camaraderie, support and a whole lot of love.

It must give you a sense of community and connection to Liverpool and the club itself?

Absolutely. We’ve talked about this many times – how, as children, watching matches on cable TV, we never imagined we’d one day be at Anfield, or meet so many people from Liverpool, or have visitors from around the world come to share the experience with us. The more we grow and get involved with the OLSC programme, the closer we feel to the club. The OLSC programme is truly incredible, and we hope to continue growing and sharing even more with Liverpool FC.

What is so special about supporting Liverpool for your members?

It’s the mystique of a great club, one that has always done things the Liverpool way. Despite outside pressures and tough periods, the club has managed to stay true to its identity and philosophy. The kind of people this club attracts tend to have their hearts in the right place. This club represents love, identity, unconditional support and pride. We’re not like the rest – we’re special, and we’re successful.

Do you hold meet-ups for games, or any special events throughout the year?

Yes, we meet every weekend for matchdays starting from 8am here, and we also organise gatherings for key cup or league matches if they fall on other days.

Has the OLSC ever visited Anfield?

Yes, we have visited Anfield. In 2024 was the first time we made use of the opportunity, and we hope to continue doing so. In 2025, some of our members attended the parade. Each year, around five to eight of us manage to travel.

What is your favourite memory together as an OLSC?

There are so many to choose from, but perhaps one of the most unforgettable was the 2019 Champions League final. The emotions were running high, and we were confident we were going to win it – so we organised a gathering from 8am that day to get into the spirit early. Fortunately, we were able to enjoy the whole day and we basically spent the entire time singing and celebrating.

It turned into more than 12 hours of pure joy – a truly incredible day. Many friends and acquaintances of our members came to join the celebration. A lot of people were genuinely happy for us because they knew how much it meant. The bar was absolutely packed – we didn’t even fit, and there were people outside trying to get in. It was unforgettable.
