NewsSuso announces retirement from football
The Spaniard joined the Reds from the youth ranks of Cadiz in the summer of 2010 and made his senior debut in a 5-3 Europa League win at Young Boys two years later.
He went on to feature 20 times overall under Brendan Rodgers during that 2012-13 campaign.
After a loan spell with Almeria in 2013-14, he returned to make one further Liverpool appearance early into the next season.
He marked the League Cup tie with Middlesbrough at Anfield in September 2014 with his only goal for the club too.
Suso later departed to join AC Milan, where he had a five-year spell that included a loan to Genoa and then to Sevilla, who he then switched to permanently.
Twice during his time at Sevilla he was part of a Europa League triumph – in 2019-20 and 2022-23.
He returned to Cadiz in 2025 for what proved to be the final chapter of his playing career, with the club announcing Suso will now take up a new role as an official representative.
