PreviewMohamed Salah set to begin Africa Cup of Nations campaign with Egypt
Mohamed Salah will embark on a new Africa Cup of Nations campaign with Egypt on Monday.
After coming off the bench to help Liverpool beat Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend, the forward departed to link up with his country for the 35th edition of AFCON.
This time, the tournament will be held in Morocco and the group stage begins on Sunday.
Six groups of four teams are set to compete, with the top two finishers in each and four best third-placed sides advancing to the last 16.
Salah's Egypt were drawn in Group B alongside Angola, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
They get their tilt at the trophy under way by facing the latter on Monday (December 22), kick-off 8pm GMT.
A clash with South Africa follows on Friday December 26 at 3pm GMT.
The Pharaohs complete the group stage against Angola on Monday December 29, kick-off 4pm GMT.
Each of Egypt's matches in the opening phase will be played in Agadir.
Round of 16 ties are scheduled across January 3/4/5/6 and the quarter-final dates are January 9/10.
Both semi-finals will be held on January 14, with a third-place play-off three days later and the final in Rabat set for January 18 (7pm GMT kick-off).
Seven-time winners of the competition, Egypt are seeking a first success at AFCON since the 2010 edition.
