ClubMilos Kerkez visits SEN school as LFC Foundation and Steve Morgan Foundation partnership thrives
Milos Kerkez was a surprise visitor at a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school to meet local children taking part in an LFC Foundation session, funded by the Steve Morgan Foundation.
One of the programmes funded by the Steve Morgan Foundation is the Special Education Needs programme, which provides inclusive physical activity for children in SEN schools with the opportunity to access high-quality physical activity and sports that they may not otherwise have access to.
Abbot's Lea School in Woolton works closely with LFC Foundation on this programme, and Kerkez took time out to visit the school and its pupils to learn more about the sessions.
The Reds left-back took part in a sports session with a group of children and spent time getting to know one pupil in particular, LFC fan Joe, who has made incredible progress through the help of the programme and has become much more confident thanks to the support of LFC Foundation coaches.
Matt Parish, chief executive of LFC Foundation, said: "The relationship between LFC Foundation and the Steve Morgan Foundation is important, primarily because it's allowed us to have more impact in communities across the Liverpool City Region and it's allowed us to expand programmes we already provide but also try new things.
"The young people attending these sessions sometimes don't get the same access as children in other schools. The Steve Morgan Foundation support allows us to offer free sport and physical activity to all SEND schools across the Liverpool City Region, which is huge."
The partnership between LFC Foundation and the Steve Morgan Foundation is entering its sixth year, with more than £5 million committed so far to the partnership, which helps to provide more opportunities for people of all ages across the Liverpool City Region.
