The Reds’ opening pre-season fixture of the summer on Saturday night saw Kieran Morrison put them in front.

Sunderland reversed the score to lead in the second half, but efforts from Dominik Szoboszlai, Federico Chiesa and Lewis Koumas ensured Andoni Iraola’s first game ended in a win.
