'This Anfield run is exciting... we have to go all in again' - Andoni Iraola's Brighton programme notes

Liverpool will 'go all in again' today, insisted Andoni Iraola, as they host Brighton & Hove Albion with the aim of a fourth successive victory.

The Reds return to Premier League action after a back-and-forth 4-3 win over Villarreal in the Champions League in midweek.

A 2pm GMT kick-off against the Seagulls is the second of four home matches in a row for Iraola's side and the head coach wants to see the same tenacity and togetherness that has been on show.

"Only a few days have passed since we last played at Anfield and after today it will only be a few more before we are back here again," he writes in the matchday programme.

"As someone who believes every single opportunity we have to play a game at this stadium and in front of our supporters is a privilege, I also feel very passionately that this is a period that we should continue to embrace.

"It is also a spell in which we will carry on being tested because the quality of the opposition dictates that there is no chance of anything else.

"Villarreal pushed us all the way in midweek and everything about the way Brighton have played so far this season tells us that it would be foolish to expect anything but the same today. Then it is on to Chelsea and finally Arsenal.

"As I said, a spell to be excited by and one in which we will need to be as close to our best as possible because there are no easy fixtures, only incredibly competitive ones. This is one of the reasons why I was so satisfied by the victory we had against Villarreal on Tuesday night.

"As you will have seen – and as we definitely felt throughout the game – they are clearly a very strong team but after a difficult start we found a way to take the three points with a mixture of quality, character and togetherness.

"After such a difficult game away to Brentford 72 hours earlier, it might have been easy to accept it would not be our night when we went 2-0 down but neither the players nor the fans were prepared to go down without a fight.

"It was this spirit and this collective mentality that allowed us to turn things around. This was especially pleasing to me because as a manager you know there will be times during periods like this, when the games come thick and fast, that your level will not always be as high as you would want it to be.

"It is during these spells that you have to find solutions and you have to dig deep. We did both of these things, which is credit to the players and also to the supporters who stuck with us during those moments when the situation was not so positive.

"We get to take this experience into today's game and we will need it. Brighton are one of the positive stories of the Premier League season so far and I am definitely one of those who has been very impressed by both the football they are playing and the results they are picking up.

"Their place towards the top of the table says everything about their form and there is no question it has been earned. So, as with Brentford last week and Chelsea and Arsenal in the days to come, we have to be prepared to face a team with quality and confidence.

"For us, we will go all in again and we will do so in the knowledge that once again you will be with us."
