Liverpool FC Women have agreed a deal for the transfer of Alice Bergstrom from BK Hacken, subject to international clearance and a work permit.

The versatile right-sided player, a Sweden U23 international, has become the Reds’ first signing of the winter to join Gareth Taylor’s squad.

She will wear the No.25 shirt.

Bergstrom, 22, recently visited the AXA Melwood Training Centre to complete a medical and sign her contract.

Soon after, she told Liverpoolfc.com: “I’m really excited. I’ve been waiting a long time so it’s nice to be here.

“I’m really excited to get started and it’s going to be a good year.”

Bergstrom, who can operate anywhere on the right flank, departs Hacken having helped the club win the 2025 Damallsvenskan title.

She played in 25 of their 26 league matches throughout the season, scoring three goals and providing eight assists as Hacken became top-flight champions for the second time in their history.

Bergstrom also started both legs as Hacken beat Internazionale 1-0 on aggregate in the last 16 of the Women’s Europa Cup in November.

That form earned her, alongside new Reds teammate Beata Olsson, a maiden call-up to Sweden’s senior squad for their UEFA Women’s Nations League third-place tie with France.

Bergstrom has accrued four seasons of top-flight experience in Sweden, having played for Djurgardens in 2022 and 2023 before joining Hacken ahead of the 2024 campaign. She has also played in the qualification rounds of the Champions League.

Before Djurgardens, Bergstrom represented Tyreso and Alvsjo.
