NewsLFC International Academy to launch in Utah
Liverpool FC is excited to announce the launch of a new LFC International Academy in Utah, further expanding its global youth development programme in the USA through a long-term agreement.
Starting today, youngsters aged four to 18 years old will have the opportunity to participate in try-outs for LFC International Academy Utah ahead of the inaugural season, which officially kicks off in August.
Players selected through the try-outs will join the year-round development programme in August, where they will learn to play ‘The Liverpool Way’.
This unique coaching approach – developed at the Reds’ world-famous Academy on Merseyside – focuses on both technical and tactical development while also nurturing key life skills. These are grounded in the four values of ‘The Liverpool Way’: ambition, commitment, dignity and unity.
Local coaches will also benefit from the global LFC Coach Accreditation, a comprehensive coach education scheme designed to enhance coaching skills.
The launch of LFC International Academy Utah marks the continued growth of the LFC IA programme in the USA – a country that continues to play an important role in the club’s international strategy. With more than 24 million fans across the USA, including 3.1 million in the Southwest region, and 67 Official Liverpool Supporters Clubs nationwide, it remains one of LFC’s most-engaged fan bases.
Ian Rush, Reds legend and LFC International Academy ambassador, said: “We’re delighted to expand our portfolio of International Academies in the USA, a key market for the club.
“It highlights LFC’s continued commitment to connecting with our global fan base and developing the game internationally – both for young players and aspiring coaches.”
Stephen Bowler, president of LFC International Academy Utah, said: “We are excited to become part of the Liverpool FC International Academy programme.
“We are looking forward to many exciting opportunities for our coaches and players to learn from LFC – the Premier League champions – and to bring soccer in Utah to the next level.”
