Liverpool FC is excited to announce a new long-term agreement that will see LFC International Academy launch in the USA states of North and South Carolina.

The agreement sees LFC continue to grow its youth coaching programme in North America, providing opportunities for girls and boys, aged four to 18, to learn to play ‘The Liverpool Way’.

LFC International Academy Carolinas will give youngsters in both states the chance to train under the guidance of LFC coaches. This tutelage will be shaped by the coaching principles that are at the centre of what is taught at LFC’s Academy in Liverpool, and all coaches will have access to the global LFC Coach Accreditation.

Through the unique coaching methods of LFC, there will also be a focus on improving key life skills of the young participants, such as communication, teamwork, decision-making, problem-solving and organisation.

Programmes in both locations will kick off in 2024, with registration for summer camps and tryouts now open.

Ian Rush, Reds legend and LFC International Academy ambassador, said: “We’re excited to continue growing our LFC International Academies in the US.

“The expert LFC coaching provided on our programmes will be a huge benefit to young players in the Carolinas. Not only will it help them to become more technically proficient by working on a wide range of footballing skills, but it will also offer them the opportunity to develop other transferable life skills, like confidence and working as part of a team.

“The development opportunities from the LFC International Academy programme extend to the coaches, as well. They will benefit from a comprehensive coach education scheme which includes the LFC International Academy Global Coach Accreditation, which allows them to deliver coaching ‘The Liverpool Way’.”

To celebrate the LFC International Academy’s launch into this new market and the upcoming pre-season match against Manchester United taking place in Columbia, South Carolina, a three-day camp will be offered from July 29 to August 2 in a nearby location, allowing young fans who are in town for the pre-season game to sign up and take part.
