NewsLFC Foundation congratulates FEFA on award-winning season
The Fowler Education and Football Academy (FEFA), which is a partner of LFC Foundation, is celebrating the outstanding achievements of its students this season in its first year based at the iconic AXA Melwood Training Centre alongside Liverpool FC Women.
This season students at FEFA, which offers a range of football and educational opportunities for young people aged 16-19, have won an impressive five trophies and became the first ever college to win the National Football Youth League treble.
FEFA’s women’s team also finished second in the league and earned promotion, taking inspiration from the success and support of LFC Women, who they share their base with.
Off the pitch, students completed more than 600 hours of volunteering on LFC Foundation programmes across the Liverpool City Region, and the college also saw the launch of two new qualifications with the HE Academy, Loughborough College and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
Matt Parish, chief executive, LFC Foundation, said: "On behalf of LFC Foundation I’d like to extend our congratulations to FEFA’s students and staff on their record-breaking year. This is our fourth year working alongside the college, which enables us as a charity to expand our reach, and support more local people in our communities."
Robbie Fowler, director at FEFA, said: "We are extremely proud of what our students and staff have achieved this year. Their dedication, hard work, and commitment have paid off both on and off the field.
"Providing a range of pathways and opportunities for our students is at the heart of what we do to support local youngsters and help them succeed in their careers.
“I’d like to thank Matt Parish and the LFC Foundation team for their support of our successful partnership as well as Matt Beard and LFC Women for being so accommodating and supportive in our first year working collaboratively at the AXA Melwood Training Centre. Their continued support has undoubtedly contributed to our success this year which I’ve no doubt will continue.”
