Fuka Nagano and Risa Shimizu helped Japan get their AFC Women's Asian Cup campaign off to a winning start.
The Liverpool FC Women duo were starters for their nation in a 2-0 victory over Chinese Taipei on Wednesday.
Nagano played all of the Group C opener in Perth, Australia, with Shimizu featuring for 64 minutes.
Second-half goals from Momoko Tanikawa and Kiko Seike earned the points for Japan, who face India next on Saturday.
