Reds in focus

Dominik Szoboszlai (£7.0m) created three big chances as Liverpool drew 0-0 with Fulham last time out in the league, which was more than any other player across the whole of Gameweek 4.

At the back, meanwhile, goalkeeper Alisson Becker (£5.5m) and centre-back Jeremy Jacquet (£5.0m) were the Reds' top FPL performers with both players registering a return of nine points.

Alisson and Jacquet each secured four clean sheet points as well as the two appearance points.

The former also earned a point for making three saves, on top of two bonus points, and the latter earned the maximum three bonus points.

Captain Virgil van Dijk (£6.5m) was just one point behind with eight. He also gained from the clean sheet and appearance points, plus added two defensive contribution points.

Defenders record defensive contributions if they make 10 defensive actions (clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles) in a game.

Ronald Araujo (£5.4m) also contributed to the clean sheet to return six points.

Liverpool have now kept back-to-back clean sheets in the league and all of their defensive assets - outside of Van Dijk - are owned by fewer than five per cent of managers in FPL. They could, therefore, be a good differential investment for the coming weeks.

Player spotlight: Araujo (£5.4m)

Araujo has started at right-back for the Reds in each of the last two Premier League matches and looks an intriguing FPL option.

The Uruguayan's appeal is not purely about clean sheets.

Araujo's aerial ability offers some attacking potential from set-pieces, with Liverpool having been one of the Premier League's strongest sides for corners and set-piece goals last season.

In the last two top-flight matches, Araujo has supplied five crosses, a total only bettered in the Reds team by Szoboszlai and Milos Kerkez (£5.4m).

Alongside the attacking threat there is also potential for defensive contribution points. Araujo has registered 14 defensive contributions in the last two gameweeks, picking up the additional two points in Gameweek 3.

Another positive for Araujo in FPL is his positional flexibility. While he has started at right-back in the last two Premier League matches, the No.33 played at centre-back in the Carabao Cup win over Tottenham Hotspur.

Most-transferred-in

Morgan Rogers (£7.7m) is once again popular with FPL managers. He is currently the most-transferred-in player, ahead of Chelsea's fixture with Brentford. So far, since the Gameweek 4 deadline passed, more than 422,000 managers have brought in the midfielder.

Pascal Gross (£5.7m) was the top FPL-scoring player in Gameweek 4. The Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder registered 17 points thanks to a goal, two assists, a clean sheet point and all three bonus points. More than 343,000 managers have brought him in ahead of a match against Arsenal.

Gameweek 5 deadline

The Gameweek 5 deadline is at 6.30pm BST today (September 18), 90 minutes ahead of Chelsea's trip to Brentford.
