Liverpool are considering a deal for Sofiane Boufal this summer, according to reports.

Boufal arrived at Lille from fellow French side Angers in January 2015 and managed three goals and six assists in his short campaign.

And in his first full season at Lille he has been in excellent form with 12 goals in all competitions.

The attacking midfielder’s performances helped his side to a fifth place finish in Ligue 1 and his form has drawn interest from across Europe.

According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Liverpool have scouted the player at least a dozen times this season.

The Reds are reportedly weighing up a move for Boufal with their campaign to sign Mario Gotze stalling.

Express Sport understands Jurgen Klopp will be given licence to spend this summer in an effort to build a squad capable of taking the club back to the Champions League.

And Gotze is understood to be a big part of the German manager’s plan.

However, it has been suggested that the Anfield outfit will struggle to land the Bayern Munich forward because they cannot offer him top-level European competition.
If they do turn their sights on Boufal, they are said to be expecting to pay around £15.7million.

But they are not the only club interested, with both Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund mentioned as clubs who have an interest in signing the Morocco international should he become available.
