Liverpool and Manchester United have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Rafa Silva.

The Braga midfielder has been in sensational form this season, scoring 11 goals in all competitions.

His performances have attracted interest from Manchester United and Liverpool, who are both looking to bring in fresh talent in the summer.

And recent comments from Rafa’s representative Antonio Araujo will be pleasing to both clubs.

“Our client, Rafa Silva, sees with very good eyes the possibility of playing in the Premier League," Araújo told Sport Witness.

“We are working towards achieving this objective."

The report claims Rafa has a €20m (£15.8m) release clause in his contract that sees his current deal run until 2019.

But Braga are bracing themselves for a busy summer and know it will be tough to keep hold of the 22-year-old in the transfer window.

Porto are said to have already made enquires but Braga are reluctant to sell to their rivals.

A move to the Premier League seems more likely and United could have the edge over Liverpool in the race to signing him if the Red Devils appoint Jose Mourinho in the summer.

Mourinho has previously identified Rafa as a player he wants to bring to Old Trafford and the former Chelsea manager’s agent Jorge Mendes could prove crucial in thrashing out a deal.

Liverpool have however reportedly made contact with Braga and begun talks.
