Mao Itamura, midfielder - Liverpool FC
Attacking midfielder Mao Itamura joined Liverpool FC Women in July 2026.
The Japan U20 international signed for the Reds from Feyenoord, who she joined in January 2025.
Itamura already has a wealth of experience in her young career so far after progressing through the ranks at JFA Academy Fukushima ahead of her switch to Europe.
At the end of the 2025-26 campaign, she was named the Women’s Eredivisie Player of the Year and shortlisted for the Johan Cruyff Talent of the Year award.
A run of eight goals and six assists in 20 matches aided those nominations, while her form also helped Feyenoord qualify for European competition for the first time in their history.
