Experienced defender Ronald Araujo joined Liverpool FC on loan from FC Barcelona for the 2026-27 season.

The Uruguay international sealed the move to become part of Andoni Iraola's Reds squad in August 2026.

Araujo arrived at Anfield having made more than 200 appearances for Barça across the previous six campaigns.

His Camp Nou CV also included three La Liga title successes, two Copa del Rey triumphs and three Spanish Super Cup wins.

A centre-back who is also capable of playing on the right-hand side of defence, Araujo was named in the La Liga Team of the Season in both 2021-22 and 2023-24.

Part of the Barcelona captaincy group from 2023 onwards, he rose to hold the armband in the months prior to joining Liverpool.
