Read a statistical preview of Liverpool's Barclays Women's Super League trip to Leicester City.

The Reds visit King Power Stadium on Sunday for their second game of the new top-flight season, kicking off at 12pm BST.

Here are a selection of pre-match facts and figures from Opta...

Match report

In the past four league meetings between the clubs, the Reds have had the upper hand with two victories (drew one, lost one).

Last season, the Foxes won a greater proportion of their total points in the WSL in home games than any other team (85 per cent – 17 out of 20).

Liverpool head coach Gareth Taylor has only picked up more wins across all competitions against Everton (13) than Leicester (won 12, drew one).

Taylor oversaw victories on all six of his visits to Leicester while Manchester City boss.

The Reds have lost three of their last four away games against Leicester, with the exception a 4-0 success on the final day of the 2023-24 season.

After their defeat by Everton at Anfield last weekend, Liverpool are aiming to avoid losing their opening two matches of a WSL campaign for the first time since 2019-20.

The Foxes' only defeat in their last seven home matches was against Manchester City in April (won four, drew two).

Since the beginning of last season, Leicester have scored the fewest goals of any other ever-present side in the WSL (21).

Interim Foxes boss Rick Passmoor will take charge of a first WSL home game since November 2016, when his Notts County side were beaten 3-1 by Chelsea.

As well as recording an assist, Marie Höbinger created the most chances (three) and had the joint-most shots of any Liverpool player against Everton on matchday one.

Höbinger has provided three goal involvements in her last six WSL appearances, as many as across her first 15 outings last term.
