Virgil van Dijk and the Netherlands advanced to the quarter-finals of the World Cup after defeating the USA 3-1 on Saturday.
The centre-half started and completed the last-16 encounter at Khalifa International Stadium, as he captained his side to victory.
Goals from Memphis Depay and Daley Blind had the Netherlands 2-0 up at half-time, with Denzel Dumfries adding their third late on after Haji Wright pulled one back.
The win now sets up a meeting with Argentina on Friday for Van Dijk and his nation.
"We want to perform, we want to perform on the highest level," the Liverpool No.4 said post-match. "We're in the quarter-finals and we know we can improve things – but we'll be there.
"We're difficult to break down, we're difficult to score goals against and that has to be the basis and solid foundations."

The second day of last-16 ties sees three Liverpool players potentially in action.
