Jenna Clark reflected on the 'amazing' feeling of committing her future to Liverpool FC Women after signing a new contract with the club.

The Scotland international, who joined the Reds from Glasgow City in July 2023, renewed her deal with the club on Friday.

Clark returned to the starting XI as Amber Whiteley's team secured a first ever league win at Anfield by beating Manchester United 3-1 last Friday.

Attention now turns to Saturday's trip to face Arsenal in the Barclays Women's Super League (kick-off 5.30pm GMT), with Liverpool recently having beaten the Gunners in the Adobe Women's FA Cup quarter-finals.

After penning fresh terms, Clark sat down with Liverpoolfc.com at the AXA Melwood Training Centre. See the interview in full below.

On signing a new deal with the club…

It feels amazing. Obviously it feels like home here so I'm delighted.

On it being a no-brainer for her to commit her future to Liverpool…

100 per cent. Liverpool to me feels like home, in the club, in the city and I've enjoyed a good year-and-a-half here already so I'm looking forward to the future.

On her aims for the future at the club…

For us as a team, we just want to finish this season on a high and as strong as we can. For me individually, I just want to carry on and try to help the team as much as I can.

On how much she feels she has grown as a player since joining the Reds...

Massively. Stepping up to the WSL was always going to be really challenging but I think I have developed a lot as a player. I'm just enjoying my football, which I think you can see on the pitch, so I'm really looking forward to developing more with this team.

On how much she is enjoying working under interim manager Whiteley after three wins in a row…

It has been really good and it's nice and fresh. I think obviously it's not been long but we've had good results so we are looking to keep that going for as long as we can, but so far I think everyone in the camp has been enjoying it.

On the win over United…

To get our first win [at Anfield] against United, I don't think we could have done that against better opposition. It's a massive occasion when Liverpool play United so to get the win at Anfield was special.

On coming into the side after the sickness bug in the camp opened up an opportunity…

I think it's the same for any game and you have to be ready. Obviously you don't want to hear that your teammates are sick, especially the night before a game, but in football your chance often comes in the strangest of ways. So for me, I wanted to take that opportunity and I really enjoyed the game.

On how much belief the team has at the moment…

I think you can see on the pitch that we are enjoying it. That brings a bit of confidence with it and we are getting some good results. The training has been so competitive, such a high standard and it's showing on the pitch. We are playing with a new system and I think that plays to our strengths and you can see that on the pitch. We are playing with freedom and enjoying ourselves.

On Saturday's trip to face Arsenal…

It will be a massive challenge again for us. We know the strengths Arsenal have. We did beat them the other week so it's doable. We are ready to go again.
