Liverpool U18s secured an impressive 6-2 victory away at Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon.

The young Reds came from behind to take three points from the U18 Premier League North clash thanks to finishes from Oakley Cannonier (two), Stefan Bajcetic, Luke Chambers and Tommy Pilling, as well as an own goal.

The visitors went 1-0 down inside two minutes after Sonny Finch's opener, though Bajcetic levelled when his cross from the left side found the back of the net.

Middlesbrough defender Alfie Myers put into his own net and Cannonier then netted twice before half-time to give his side a three-goal cushion.

Nathan Simpson pulled one back for the hosts early in the second period, only for Chambers to score from the penalty spot and substitute Pilling to complete the scoring.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com post-match, U18s manager Marc Bridge-Wilkinson said: "It was a good performance. Obviously we were disappointed to go a goal down so early in the game, but I think the lads did really well after that.

"We performed quite well, we created quite a lot, we were comfortable in our build-up and our play. The only disappointment is conceding the goals but it was a good performance.

"Both Lee Jonas and Harvey Blair played their first game for a period of time due to injury, so it was nice to have them both back starting and they both performed quite well. So it was really pleasing to have them back on the teamsheet."

Liverpool U18s: Davies, Jonas (Pilling, 63), Bajcetic, Chambers, Mabaya, Miles, McConnell, Frauendorf (Figueroa, 90), Clark, Blair (Davidson, 63), Cannonier.

Unused substitutes: Hewitson, Lucky.
