Sammy Lee and Christine Murray have signed up to take part in Saturday’s ‘Kip on the Kop’ at Anfield to help raise awareness and funds for homelessness across the Liverpool City Region.

Former Reds star Lee made almost 300 appearances for the club during the 1970s and ’80s, scoring 19 times and winning four league titles, four League Cups, two European Cups and the FA Cup.

He is joined in signing up for the event by Liverpool-born actress, comedian and author Murray, known professionally as Crissy Rock, famous for her award-winning performance in the 1994 film Ladybird, Ladybird and as Janey York in Benidorm.

Reds fan and award-winning comedian John Bishop was confirmed as attending earlier this year, as is LFC Foundation community ambassador Chris Kirkland.

Funds raised will go towards supporting LFC Foundation’s Global Works programme, as well as Liverpool Homeless FC.

The Global Works programme provides sport-based employability sessions and mentoring for young people who have experienced homelessness.

Liverpool Homeless FC, meanwhile, was founded for people affected by homelessness across the region, providing footballing opportunities focused on inclusion, fun and helping to move lives forward.

If you wish to register for the event, you can do so here, or to find out more visit www.liverpoolfc.com/kiponthekop. Please note that you must be aged 16 and over to take part, and those aged under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The registration fee is £30 and those taking part are asked to commit to raising a minimum of £250 in donations, which will be shared between LFC Foundation’s Global Works programme and Liverpool Homeless FC.
