NewsSami Hyypia and Natasha Dowie help strengthen LFC's presence in Southeast Asia
Liverpool FC continues to bring supporters around the world closer to the club with its latest visit to Southeast Asia, where football, fan experiences and retail came together across Thailand and Indonesia.
Liverpool FC Women ambassador Natasha Dowie and LFC legend Sami Hyypia joined the club for the visit, taking part in fan, community and cultural activities across Thailand before travelling to Indonesia for events in Bali and Jakarta.
Asia Pacific is LFC's largest global fan region, with 283 million supporters, 48 million social media followers and 48 Official Liverpool Supporters Clubs, while the club recorded a cumulative TV audience of 111 million across the region during the 2025-26 season.
The Thailand leg of the trip included Kop Run 2026, presented by Krungthai-AXA Life, which brought together Reds and the wider local community for 5km and 10km races with routes centred around the Sports Authority of Thailand at Hua Mak in Bangkok.
Dowie and Hyypia joined thousands of participants at the event, which formed part of a packed programme of activity during the club's time in the country.
Grassroots football was also a key focus of the visit, with LFC International Academy and the club's global partner Japan Airlines delivering soccer clinics for local youngsters.
The sessions gave participants the opportunity to take to the pitch and experience coaching inspired by 'the Liverpool Way', with Dowie, Hyypia and Mighty Red, the club's official mascot, joining the sessions and meeting young players.
Dowie and Hyypia also met supporters at a series of fan events and meet-and-greets, while experiencing some of the local culture, from local dance lessons to exploring Bangkok by tuk-tuk.
From Thailand, the visit continued to Indonesia, another important market for the club and home to a passionate community of Reds.
In Bali, Dowie and Hyypia helped officially open LFC's newest standalone retail store, meeting supporters and marking the latest addition to the club's growing international retail network. LFC operates more standalone retail stores than any other team in world sport.
The trip concluded in Jakarta, where Dowie and Hyypia met more supporters during a special meet-and-greet at the club's official store.
The visit forms part of LFC's ongoing international work to create meaningful ways for supporters to connect with the club wherever they are in the world – whether through football, local fan events, retail experiences or the club's network of Official Liverpool Supporters Clubs.
