Sadio Mane leaves Liverpool as, in the words of Jürgen Klopp, a 'legend'.

It was announced today that Mane has joined Bayern Munich, ending a memorable six-year stay with the Reds.

The No.10 departs Anfield having delivered 120 goals, six trophies and countless smiles to the faces of teammates and supporters.

Reflect on some of Mane's best moments in a red shirt below...

A dream debut

He was so good on his Liverpool debut, Klopp even gave him a piggyback.

The Reds boss joined in with the celebrations after Mane scored an incredible goal during a 4-3 win at Arsenal on the opening weekend of the 2016-17 season.

The massively-encouraging signs about this talent acquired from Southampton were there from the very start.

Derby delight at Christmas time

'Mane's scoring, all around us...'

This was the birth of a song that will be sung at all Merseyside derbies for the foreseeable future.

Mane gave Kopites the best Christmas present imaginable, scoring a 94th-minute winner to decide a December 2016 meeting with Everton at Goodison Park.

Hat-trick hero v Porto

Mane's first ever appearance in a Champions League knockout fixture saw him leave with the match ball and 5-0 win for his team.

With his goals in the rain at FC Porto, the speedster became, at that time, just the fourth Liverpool player to score a hat-trick in the Champions League.

The Reds would reach the final that season, with Mane scoring a total of 10 in the competition.

An outrageous finish

"I was a lucky boy," Mane said after his audacious backheel goal against Watford at Anfield in February 2019.

Most, if not everyone, would disagree with his assessment. It was a piece of brilliance very few players would think of performing, let alone executing it to perfection – but Mane can and did.

It's a goal we'll probably never see the likes of again.

A finishing masterclass in Munich

Liverpool's road to Champions League glory in 2019 involved a statement performance at the home of Mane's new club, with the forward himself playing a starring role.

Mane opened the scoring in the last-16 tie with a simply sublime touch and finish from a Virgil van Dijk ball over the top, before wrapping up a famous 3-1 win late on.

'Ridiculous' was the word James Milner used to describe the opener. Indeed.

The Golden Boot for a golden player

Two goals on the final day of the 2018-19 Premier League season led to Mane winning the Golden Boot, alongside Mohamed Salah and Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Mane struck a career-best 22 times in the top flight to claim the prize.

Two in Turkey to help win UEFA Super Cup

Adrian was the hero in the UEFA Super Cup penalty shootout with Chelsea – but the stage for the new goalkeeper to secure the trophy was constructed with Mane's goals.

The Senegal international equalised in Istanbul to make it 1-1 in the second half, before firing in during the opening period of extra-time to put his team 2-1 up.

Giving everything to make history

It was late and it was great when Mane put his head where it hurts to seal a 2-1 comeback victory at Aston Villa in November 2019.

Mane went above and beyond to help Liverpool win their first Premier League title, including scoring an injury-time header at Villa Park in what turned out to be a crucial win.

"Pure will," Klopp said of the brave goal.

Keeping a promise

In keeping with his way, Mane fulfilled a promise to copy the celebration of Liverpool fan Lee Swan.

The pair got to know each other for an instalment of Dear Liverpool during which Lee showed Mane his unique celebration to imitate.

He duly performed the act at the earliest opportunity, after scoring away at Crystal Palace in December 2020.

A double at Wembley

Mane's tenacity and technical ability – standout components of his game – were on display when he netted a brace over Manchester City at Wembley in April.

His front-foot pressing directly produced the contest's second goal as he then followed it up with a perfect volley to help put the Reds in the Emirates FA Cup final.

"He played an incredible game, an absolutely incredible game," Klopp said of Mane, who started in the triumph over Chelsea a month later.
