Ahead of the start of the 2026-27 season, we're reminding supporters of the official ways to share tickets with family and friends if you're unable to attend a game at Anfield.

To ensure as many seats as possible are filled every matchday, the club offers a number of ways to help you pass on your ticket safely and securely.

Using these official channels helps to protect fair access to tickets, maintain the integrity of the club's ticketing system and the recent changes to improve ticketing for supporters, and also ensure we know who is attending matches at Anfield, which is crucial for safety and security.

Demand for tickets at Anfield remains extremely high and the club is committed to ensuring access for supporters is as fair as possible. The official channels for sharing your tickets helps to protect fairness and prevent issues around ticket eligibility or loyalty criteria, and also helps the club to continue tackling touting and unauthorised resale of tickets.

It's also important going into the new season that the club knows who is in the ground to help ensure we are compliant with our safety responsibilities, which will become even more important under Martyn's Law, which is set to be implemented in the near future.

The club will continue to take action against ticket touting and other forms of ticket misuse, and recently confirmed that, working alongside Merseyside Police, more than £1.2 million has been detained in assets related to organised ticket touts.

For the forthcoming season, we will introduce further enforcement on matchdays and additional training for stewards.

What are the official channels to share tickets?

Ticket Forwarding

  • To forward a ticket to another supporter, they must be registered with LFC and must be on your Friends & Family list. If the person you wish to forward your ticket to is not already registered with the club, they can sign up for a free account here.
  • You can add people to your Friends & Family list at any time during the season, up to the limit of 18. If you need to remove anyone, you must do this before September 1.
  • Ticket Forwarding is available until kick-off for each game, meaning you can pass your ticket on last minute if your plans change.

Ticket Exchange

  • You can return your ticket via the Ticket Exchange for all Premier League home games and it's available up until one hour prior to kick-off.
  • General admission tickets returned via the Ticket Exchange are made available in the additional members sales that take place ahead of each match and are only resold to eligible All Red members at face value and are never resold as hospitality tickets.
  • Supporters will receive 100 per cent of the price they paid for the seat if the ticket sells on the exchange.

Please note that Ticket Forwarding and Ticket Exchange typically open 10 to 14 days before a Premier League home game.

What is considered ticket misuse?

The following methods of sharing tickets are considered misuse and are not allowed under the club's ticket terms and conditions.

  • Passing tickets between supporters outside of the official channels outlined above.
  • Allowing someone else to use your NFC pass either on their phone or another device, or using someone else's stadium access card.
  • Using another supporter's NFC pass or ticketing device to gain access to a game – this includes the use of burner phones, which the club continues to take steps to clamp down on.
  • Scanning someone in so they can use your ticket at the turnstile. Supporters should always attend on a ticket registered to them. Scanning someone in with a ticket that is not registered to them is not permitted.
  • All supporters inside the stadium must be able to present a valid ticket which is registered in their name if requested. There has been an increase in supporters being scanned in by someone else who is not attending the game and does not enter the stadium.
  • All of these methods are not permitted, even if no money is exchanged for the tickets.
  • In the most serious cases, tickets are passed on using the above methods in exchange for significantly inflated prices and this is where the most severe sanctions can be faced for ticket touting. Full details on the club's sanctions process can be found here.

Using the official channels helps protect fair access for you and fellow supporters, supports stadium safety and ensures you remain compliant with the club's ticketing terms and conditions to avoid any risks of sanctions.

An example of how this helps to increase access is that we have recently introduced multi-year loyalty. But this will only be effective in freeing up access to tickets for other supporters if everyone uses the official channels to prevent fans collecting match credits for games they haven't attended.
